Observation

Provider did not call the department within 24 hours after calling 911 after supected poisoning and fail to call CPS. We want to dispute this rule violation. We would like to dispute because Director was made aware by the paramedics after she called 911 that mom would not be getting in trouble because it would be treated as if a child had gotten into soap. When director reached out to mom to see how the child is doing, mom had let the director know the doctors also told her that they already called CPS. This is why Director didn't think to make the report because it had they had already been called. The following steps were done, accident report was generated and given to parents the day of the incident, and licensor was contacted over the phone and after no answer an email was sent. We also want to dispute because this is our first violation after being in this business for more than 20 years. We have learned from the mistake and also know the WAC rules and regulations. This can also really hurt our business and deter people from seeking care with us. We want to continue to provide quality care for the children of families and do not want this to impact our attendance and new children we are able to care for. This can also hurt us with insurance for our daycare, with rates increasing or insurance not wanting to renew and cancel their service which if we do not have, we cannot keep our doors open.
