Observation

2a) Rocks from the deteriorating planter boxes are accessible to the children. It is reported that children are placing rocks in their mouths, to include infants and toddlers and the teachers are constantly addressing this situation. 3a) Protruding nails and screws were observed at the planter boxes in the playgrounds. rotten wood in the planter boxes was observed with splintered wood. The wooden bench in the infant playground was observed to have a rough surface which caused scratching. 3c) the doors on the 3 sheds are gaping, potentially causing pinching to fingers or other body parts when pushed or leaned on. The hinge of one shed door is not seucred, causing another pinch point. 3g) The boards placed along the top of the planter boxes are warped and loose. The turf on the playground is lifting from the ground, creating a tripping hazard and exposing foam like material underneath which is beginning to break away. The rubber mark is also peeling away.
