Observation

1) One child in care has a newly diagnosed food allergy and the early learning provider has been informed that emergency medication may be needed to treat the allergy. The child does not have an Individual Care Plan on file to a) identify the food allergens and steps to take if the child in case of an unintended allergic reaction, b) identify foods that can substitute for the allergenic foods, c) provide a specific treatment plan for the early learning provider to follow, including: i) medications to administer, ii) directions for administering medications, iii) directions related to medication dosage amounts, and iv) description of allergic reactions and symptoms associated with the child's allergies.
