Observation

A small tie used to keep plastic bags shut was observed on the floor in the infant room. It was picked up immediately. A loose cord was observed in the Developmental Preschool classroom. This was fixed immediately. Plastic gloves and a bag were observed accessible to infants in an unsecured lower cabinet in the infant classroom. Gloves were observed accessible to infants on the infant changing table. Plastic gloves were accessible to children in the toddler room. Plastic gloves were accessible to the children in the DP classroom. The kitchen was unlocked and accessible to children. The kitchen contained a stove with electric burners. The burners were warm to the touch. This does not appear to be because the burners were on themselves but that the stove was on and warming to 400 degrees. A child could have opened the stove and burned themself. A taller preschool age child could have accessed the temperature control knobs for the burners. A secondary refrigerator/freezer was in the kitchen and accessible to children. The kitchen was locked by the provider within five minutes after a key was located.
